The Taj Mahal (from Persian/Urdu "crown of palaces") is a white Marble mausoleum located in Agra, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage."

Taj Mahal is the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Turkish and Indian architectural styles.

In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar component of the Taj Mahal, it is actually an integrated complex of structures. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen. The construction of the Taj Mahal was entrusted to a board of architects under imperial supervision, including Abd ul-Karim Ma'mur Khan, Makramat Khan, and Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. Lahauri is generally considered to be the principal designer.

Another quiz extravaganza took place this past week at Caffrey's Pub on Marquette Campus. A large amount of Marquette quizzers did exactly as QM Pete said and got involved. As with every quiz only one team can walk away as champions, and this week that team was; Laces Out Marino who scored an impressive 46 points and won the quiz for the first time in a while...

It's about fucking time they got their act together and won a quiz.

Homer joins the "Hullabalooza" music
festival as a carnival freak

"Homerpalooza" is the 24th episode of The Simpsons' seventh season and originally aired on May 19, 1996. The plot focuses around Homer's depression about aging and no longer being cool, and his quest to become cool again by joining the "Hullabalooza" music festival as a carnival freak.

After the school bus is destroyed at the auto wrecking yard, Homer is forced to drive his (and other) kids to school. Along the way, he listens to a classic rock radio station and is shocked to discover that all of the kids hate it. As a result, Homer decides to take Bart and Lisa to the Hullabalooza music festival. After being tossed out by the crowd, Homer angrily kicks a cannon, which shoots one of Peter Frampton's inflatable pigs (purchased at "Pink Floyd's yard sale") at his stomach. The festival head is impressed and Homer is hired as a part of the festival's freak show.

As a result, Homer gets to go on tour with the festival and hangs out with The Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill and Sonic Youth. As the tour approaches a stop in Springfield, Homer's stomach begins to hurt and he is sent to a veterinarian. The veterinarian advises Homer that if he performs his act one more time, his stomach will burst and he will die. Homer shrugs this news off, not wanting to lose his popularity. At first he decides to do his job, but at the last second he loses his nerve and dodges the cannonball. He is released from the festival and goes back to not being respected by his children

Trivia night returned to Caffrey's Pub this past Monday after a very tedious month-long break over the holidays. And everyone at the Marquette bar was in jubilant spirits following the day time Marquette basketball game. Pete "livin' the motherfuckin' dream" Marshall was also back to host!

As always there can only be one winner and this week it was I Have A Dream That One Day I'll Be Able To Understand Pete, who scored an impressive 57 points from a possible 60...

With 54 points second place went to Jermichael: The Newest Four Letter Word: 10....

The new trend among baby names is to put a "jer" in front of the name. For example, "JerPete."

In 1961 the first human space flight launched
Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin into orbit

Vostok 1 (Russian: Восток-1, East 1 or Orient 1) was the first spaceflight in the Vostok program and the first human spaceflight in history. The Vostok 3KA spacecraft was launched on April 12, 1961. The flight took Yuri Gagarin, a cosmonaut from the Soviet Union, into space. The flight marked the first time that a human entered outer space, as well as the first orbital flight of a manned vehicle. Vostok 1 was launched by the Soviet space program, and was designed by Soviet engineers guided by Sergey Korolyov under the supervision of Kerim Kerimov and others.

The spaceflight consisted of a single orbit of the Earth. According to official records, the spaceflight took 108 minutes from launch to landing. As planned, Gagarin landed separately from his spacecraft, having ejected with a parachute 7 km (23,000 ft) above ground. Historian Asif Siddiqi has written that Gagarin was in the spacecraft for 108 minutes after launch, and that he didn't touch ground for another 10 minutes. (The exact duration is useful to prove that Gagarin completed a full 360-degree orbit in inertial space. The longitude of launch to landing spanned a little more than 340 degrees, but the Earth also was rotating underneath him at about 15 degrees per hour while Gagarin was aloft.)

This weeks Caffrey's Quiz was held at Murphy's Irish Pub while the former undergoes a short period of refurbishment following last week's urinal incident.

And all the legends cam out to quiz with QM Pete.

On the night only one team could take the first place prize and that was some quiz regulars going by the name Ryan Braun's Shrivled Testicles...

They tallied an impressive 52 points after a very successful wager bonus round.

Second place went to the Prettiest Princesses who scored a steady 49 points...

Special mentions go to Drunks with 36 points and BaQ D@ A$$ who scored 32, but Jimmy the bartender could only choose one team for best team name, and he chose; I'm An Analyst and Therapist. Anal-Rapist For Short...

The closest planet to Earth that may be
habitable: it's about 600 light years away

Kepler-22b is the first confirmed extrasolar planet found by NASA's Kepler Space Telescope to orbit the habitable zone of a Sun-like star. Kepler-22b, a possible super-Earth, is roughly 600 light years away from Earth, in orbit around the G-type star Kepler-22.

The discovery was announced December 5, 2011. The planet was originally discovered on Kepler's third day of science operations in mid-2009. The third transit was detected in late 2010. Additional confirmation data was provided by the Spitzer Space Telescope and ground-based observations.

Kepler-22b's radius is roughly 2.4 times the radius of Earth, or about half that of Neptune. Its mass and surface composition remain unknown, with only some very rough estimates established.

The only parameters of the planet's orbit that are currently available are its period which is about two hundred and ninety days, and its inclination, which is such that it transits the disk of its star as seen from Earth.

No information is available about the shape of the planet's orbit. Many extrasolar planets are known to move in highly elliptical orbits. We only know that the semi-major axis of its orbit is within the habitable zone of an Earth mass planet. If Kepler-22b has a highly elongated orbit it may well only spend a small fraction of its time within this habitable zone.

Fire, Floods and Three-Dolla Booze! Quiz at Murphy's next week!

Just a heads up: due to a lil' accident at Caffrey's this past Monday December 5th, next week's quiz on December 12th will take place at Murphy's Irish Pub - just around the corner at 1613 W Wells Street - while the clean-up and renovations take place at Caffs!!

Another quiz spectacular took place this past Monday at Caffrey's on Marquette campus, all the quizzers were out in force to get involved with the great specials and get nice and drunk.

And things got a bit mental (after the quiz), as there was an accident with the urinal and the whole bar flooded a wee-bit.

And then, word on the street says that something exploded and there was a fire... "well mental" in the words of Quizmaster Pete Marshall.

Anyway, the show must go on!

As always there can only be one winner and that was the team known as Stay At Home Moms who score a steady 44 points...

One point behind them was Benjamin "Beef" Franklin who don't mince their words at all...

Alcatraz Island is an island located in the San Francisco Bay, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) offshore from San Francisco, California, United States. Often referred to as "The Rock" or simply "Traz", the small island was developed with facilities for a lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison, and a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal prison until 1963. Beginning in November 1969, the island was occupied for more than 19 months by a group of American Indians from San Francisco, who were part of a wave of Indian activism across the nation, with public protests through the 1970s. Later, in 1972, Alcatraz became a national recreation area and received designation as a National Historic Landmark in 1986.

Today, the island's facilities are operated by the National Park Service as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area; it is open to tours. Visitors can reach the island by ferry ride from Pier 33, near Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. In 2008 the nation's first hybrid propulsion ferry started serving the island. Alcatraz has been featured in many movies, TV shows, cartoons, books, comics, and games.

Big Ben
Celebrated it's 150th anniversary in 2009

Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and is generally extended to refer to the clock or the clock tower as well. It is the largest four-faced chiming clock and the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in the world. It celebrated its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009, during which celebratory events took place. The erecting of the tower was completed on 10 April 1858. The clock tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.

The present Clock Tower was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834. The new Parliament was built in a Neo-gothic style. Although Barry was the chief architect of the Palace, he turned to Augustus Pugin for the design of the Clock Tower, which resembles earlier Pugin designs, including one for Scarisbrick Hall. The design for the Clock Tower was Pugin's last design before his final descent into madness and death, and Pugin himself wrote, at the time of Barry's last visit to him to collect the drawings: "I never worked so hard in my life for Mr Barry for tomorrow I render all the designs for finishing his bell tower & it is beautiful." The tower is designed in Pugin's celebrated Gothic Revival style, and is 96.3 metres (316 ft) high (roughly 16 stories).

England at the 1986 FIFA World Cup

Argentina v England, played on 22 June 1986, was a football match between Argentina and England in the quarter-finals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The game was held four years after the Falklands War between Argentina and the United Kingdom and was a key part in developing the intense football rivalry between the two nations. It was also a match which included two of the most famous goals in football history, both scored by Diego Maradona.

His first, after fifty-one minutes, was the Hand of God goal, in which Maradona scored with an illegal, but unpenalised, handball. His second, after fifty-four minutes, saw him dribble past six England players, Beardsley, Reid, Butcher, Fenwick, Butcher (again), and finally goalkeeper Peter Shilton. In 2002 this was voted Goal of the Century by FIFA.com voters. Argentina won the game 2–1 and went on to win the 1986 World Cup with a victory over West Germany in the final. Maradona won the golden ball for player of the tournament whilst England's goalscorer on the day, Gary Lineker, won the golden shoe for being the tournament's top scorer.

Another quiz spectacular took place this past Monday at Caffrey's Pub on Marquette Campus, and all the quizzers came to win but only one team could take the top prize on the night. That team was Schindler's Quiz: I Could Have Answered More...

Taking the second place prize was the team known only as I'd Rather Slap My Ham Than Choke Your Chicken...

Special mention goes to Kitten Mittens who took QM Pete's gauntlet and answered the soccer question correctly, we actually thought nobody would know what Borrisia Dortmund's home kit looked like. Thus, the whole team earned themselves shots.

play the Hulk in the original TV series

Richard Dawson Kiel (born 1939) is an American actor best known for his role as the steel-toothed Jaws in the James Bond movies The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Moonraker (1979) as well as the video game Everything or Nothing, and Mr. Larson in Happy Gilmore. He was 7 feet 1.5 inches tall in his prime but now due to injury and age, he is slightly under 7 feet tall.

He and Arnold Schwarzenegger were the original choices to play the title character in the 1977 TV series The Incredible Hulk. Schwarzenegger was turned down due to his height. Kiel participated in the filming of the TV movie pilot. During the shoot, producers decided their Hulk needed to be muscular rather than just towering, and Kiel was dismissed because he possessed more body fat than the producers deemed necessary. According to a Den of Geek interview, Kiel, who sees properly out of only one eye, also reacted badly to the contact lenses used for the role, and found the green makeup difficult to remove, so he did not mind losing the part. All recognizable footage of Kiel was cut; the scenes were then reshot with Lou Ferrigno.

Before breaking into film & TV Kiel worked in numerous jobs including a night club bouncer and a cemetery plot salesman.

The Comstock Lode was the first major U.S. discovery of silver ore, located under what is now Virginia City, Nevada, on the eastern slope of Mount Davidson, a peak in the Virginia Range. After the discovery was made public in 1859, prospectors rushed to the area and scrambled to stake their claims. Mining camps soon thrived in the vicinity, which became bustling centers of fabulous wealth.

It is notable not just for the immense fortunes it generated and the large role those fortunes had in the growth of Nevada and San Francisco, but also for the advances in mining technology that it spurred. The mines declined after 1874.

The discovery of silver in Nevada (then western Utah Territory) in 1858 caused considerable excitement in California and throughout the United States. The excitement was the greatest since the discovery of gold in California ten years earlier at Sutter's Mill.

Gold was discovered in this region in the spring of 1850. It was discovered in Gold Canyon, by a company of Mormon emigrants who were part of the Mormon Battalion. After arriving much too early to cross the Sierra, they camped on the Carson river in the vicinity of Dayton, to wait for the mountain snow to melt. They soon found gold along the gravel river banks by panning, but left when the mountains were passable, as they anticipated taking out more gold on reaching California. Other emigrants followed, camped on the canyon and went to work at mining. However, when the supply of water in the canyon gave out toward the end of summer, they continued across the mountains to California. The camp had no permanent population until the winter and spring of 1852–53, when there were 200 men at work along the gravel banks of the canyon with rockers, Long Toms and sluices.

Despite its depiction in popular culture, the
French prisoner's face was actually covered
by a black velvet cloth, not an iron mask.

The Man in the Iron Mask (French: L'Homme au Masque de Fer) is a name given to a prisoner arrested as Eustache Dauger in 1669, and held in a number of jails, including the Bastille and the Fortress of Pignerol (today Pinerolo). He was held in the custody of the same jailer, Bénigne Dauvergne de Saint-Mars, for a period of 34 years. He died on 19 November 1703 under the name of Marchioly, during the reign of Louis XIV of France, 1643-1715. The possible identity of this man has been thoroughly discussed and has been the subject of many books, because no one ever saw his face, which was hidden by a mask of black velvet cloth.

In the second edition of his Questions sur l'Encyclopédie (French for "Questions on the Encyclopedia"), published in 1771, the writer and philosopher Voltaire claimed that the prisoner wore an iron mask and was the older, illegitimate brother of Louis XIV. In the late 1840s, the writer Alexandre Dumas elaborated on the theme in the final installment of his Three Musketeers saga: here the prisoner is forced to wear an iron mask and is Louis XIV's twin brother.

What facts are known about this prisoner are based mainly on correspondence between his jailer and his superiors in Paris.

Second place wasn't as simple, however, as a sudden death round was called for to separate Back Alley Abortions and I'm Like A Hardware Store. I Screw. I Nut. I Bolt.

The aardvark is a medium-sized, burrowing, nocturnal mammal native to Africa. It is the only living species of the order Tubulidentata, although other prehistoric species and genera of Tubulidentata are known.

An aardvark's weight is typically between 40 and 65 kilograms (88 and 140 lb). An aardvark's length is usually between 1 and 1.3 metres (3.3 and 4.3 ft), and can reach lengths of 2.2 metres (7 ft 3 in) when its tail (which can be up to 70 centimetres (28 in)) is taken into account.

The aardvark has been known to sleep in a recently excavated ant nest, which also serves as protection from its predators.

The dual-concert raised money for
the famine in Ethiopia in 1985

Live Aid was a dual-venue concert that was held on 13 July 1985. The event was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine. Billed as the "global jukebox", the event was held simultaneously in Wembley Stadium in London, England, United Kingdom (attended by 72,000 people) and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States (attended by about 100,000 people).

On the same day, concerts inspired by the initiative happened in other countries, such as Australia and Germany. It was one of the largest-scale satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time: an estimated global audience of 1.9 billion, across 150 nations, watched the live broadcast.

Throughout the concerts, viewers were urged to donate money to the Live Aid cause. Three hundred phone lines were manned by the BBC, so that members of the public could make donations using their credit cards. The phone number and an address that viewers could send cheques to were repeated every twenty minutes.

Nearly seven hours into the concert in London, Bob Geldof enquired how much money had been raised; he was told £1.2 million. He is said to have been sorely disappointed by the amount and marched to the BBC commentary position. Pumped up further by a performance by Queen that he later called "absolutely amazing", Geldof gave an infamous interview in which he used the word 'fuck'. The BBC presenter David Hepworth, conducting the interview, had attempted to provide a list of addresses to which potential donations should be sent; Geldof interrupted him in mid-flow and shouted: "Fuck the address, let's get the numbers!" It has passed into folklore that he yelled at the audience, "Give us your fucking money!" although Geldof has stated that this phrase was never uttered. Private Eye magazine made great capital out of these outbursts, emphasising Geldof's accent which meant the profanities were heard as "fock" and "focking". After the outburst, giving increased to £300 per second.

A baseball uniform is a type of uniform worn by baseball players. Most baseball uniforms have the names and uniform numbers of players who wear them, usually on the backs of the uniforms to distinguish players from one other. Baseball shirts (jerseys), pants, shoes, socks, caps, and glove are parts of baseball uniforms. Most uniforms have different logos and colors to tell which team is which. Uniforms are also worn to identify the two teams and officials apart.

Baseball uniforms were first worn by the New York Knickerbockers Baseball Club in 1849. Today, sales of replica uniforms and derivative branded products generate large amounts of income for Major League teams through merchandising.

The New York Knickerbockers were the first baseball team to wear uniforms, taking the field on April 4, 1849 in pants made of blue wool, white flannel shirts and straw hats. The practice of wearing a uniform soon spread, and by 1900, all Major League Baseball teams had adopted them. By 1882 most uniforms included stockings, which covered the leg from foot to knee, and were used to differentiate one club from another. The uniforms themselves had different colors and patterns that reflected the different baseball positions. In the late 1880s, the Detroit Wolverines and Washington Nationals of the National League and the Brooklyn Bridegrooms of the American Association were the first to wear striped uniforms.

It is the world's highest waterfall, with a height of 979 m (3,212 ft) and a plunge of 807 m (2,648 ft). The waterfall drops over the edge of the Auyantepui mountain in the Canaima National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Canaima), a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Gran Sabana region of Bolívar State. The height figure 979 m (3,212 ft) mostly consists of the main plunge but also includes about 400 m (0.25 mi) of sloped cascades and rapids below the drop and a 30 m (98 ft) high plunge downstream of the talus rapids.

Before reaching the ground, much of the water is dissipated as mist.

Angel Falls is one of Venezuela's top tourist attractions, though a trip to the falls is a complicated affair. The falls are located in an isolated jungle, and a flight from Puerto Ordaz or Ciudad Bolívar is required to reach Canaima camp, the starting point for river trips to the base of the falls. River trips generally take place from June to December, when the rivers are deep enough for the wooden curiaras used by the Pemon guides. During the dry season (December to March) there is less water seen than in the other months (this can be clearly seen in the photos of the falls above).

Christopher Columbus (c. 31 October 1451 – 20 May 1506) was an explorer, colonizer, and navigator, born in the Republic of Genoa, in northwestern Italy. Under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, he completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean that led to general European awareness of the American continents in the Western Hemisphere. Most archaeologists believe that Machu Picchu was built as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachacuti (1438–1472). Often referred to as the "Lost City of the Incas", it is perhaps the most familiar icon of the Inca World.

The Incas started building the "estate" around AD 1400, but abandoned it as an official site for the Inca rulers a century later at the time of the Spanish Conquest. Although known locally, it was unknown to the outside world before being brought to international attention in 1911 by the American historian Hiram Bingham. Since then, Machu Picchu has become an important tourist attraction. Most of the outlying buildings have been reconstructed in order to give tourists a better idea of what the structures originally looked like. By 1976, thirty percent of Machu Picchu had been restored. The restoration work continues to this day.

Since the site was never known to the Spanish during their conquest, it is highly significant as a relatively intact cultural site. Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. In 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide Internet poll.

The FBI's first director was responsible for
publishing the first list back in 1949

The FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list arose from a conversation held in late 1949 between J. Edgar Hoover, Director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, and William Kinsey Hutchinson, International News Service (the predecessor of the United Press International) Editor-in-Chief, who were discussing ways to promote capture of the FBI's "toughest guys". This discussion turned into a published article, which received so much positive publicity that on March 14, 1950, the FBI officially announced the list to increase law enforcement's ability to capture dangerous fugitives.

Individuals are removed from this list if the fugitive is captured, killed, or if the charges against them are dropped; they are then replaced by a new entry selected by the FBI. In five cases, the FBI removed individuals from the list after deciding that they were no longer a "particularly dangerous menace to society". Víctor Manuel Gerena, added to the list in 1984, has been on the list longer than anyone, at 27 years. Billie Austin Bryant spent the shortest amount of time on the list, being listed for two hours in 1969. On rare occasions, the FBI will add a "Number Eleven" if that individual is extremely dangerous but the Bureau does not feel any of the current ten should be removed.

The list is commonly posted in public places such as post offices. In some cases, fugitives on the list have turned themselves in on becoming aware of their listing. As of November 1, 2009, 494 fugitives have been listed (eight of them women), and 463 (94%) captured or located, 152 (33%) of them due to public assistance.

Aargh! The Quizmaster Pirate Cruise be just about a week away! Mateys be signin' up now, with only room for 150 pirates - 50 percent sold out already!....

Another quiz spectacular took place at Marquette's craziest bar this past Monday with QM Pete at the helm.

The show was laden with fun and drunken times, and the eventual first place prize went to the formidable team known as Nice Fohawk Bro, which was aimed at QM Pete's delightful haircut...

Let us correct the team though, as it's a Fauxhawk, FYI.

Second place with 42 points was House of Payne who's alias was just an ejaculating penis... They are always in the frame, with more impressive knowledge from the Payne team. They also won the bar's quiz league on the night (after 10 weeks of play) although it was no contest in the end as many of the other teams did not keep a consistent name.

Special mentions go to When Pete Riots, Panties Drop and Peanuts Hurt More When They Come Out Whole In The Morning. But Billy the barback chose The Menstral Cycle Display Team as best team name, and they left with the prize of $10....

In Ireland, the Great Famine was a period of mass starvation, disease and emigration between 1845 and 1852. It is also known, mostly outside Ireland, as the Irish Potato Famine. In the Irish language it is called an Gorta Mór (IPA: [ənˠ ˈɡɔɾˠtˠə ˈmˠoːɾˠ], meaning "the Great Hunger") or an Drochshaol ([ənˠ ˈdˠɾɔxˌhiːlˠ], meaning "the bad times").

During the famine approximately 1 million people died and a million more emigrated from Ireland, causing the island's population to fall by between 20% and 25%. The proximate cause of famine was a potato disease commonly known as potato blight. Although blight ravaged potato crops throughout Europe during the 1840s, the impact and human cost in Ireland — where one-third of the population was entirely dependent on the potato for food—was exacerbated by a host of political, social and economic factors which remain the subject of historical debate.

The famine was a watershed in the history of Ireland. Its effects permanently changed the island's demographic, political and cultural landscape. For both the native Irish and those in the resulting diaspora, the famine entered folk memory and became a rallying point for various nationalist movements as Ireland was then part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Modern historians regard it as a dividing line in the Irish historical narrative, referring to the preceding period of Irish history as "pre-Famine".

Portrayed by Hawaiian actor Harold Sakata

Oddjob is a henchman to the villain Auric Goldfinger in the film and novel. In the film he was played by the Hawaiian actor Harold Sakata.

Oddjob is one of the most popular characters in the Bond series. He is superior in unarmed combat skills to Bond in both film and novel, and therefore must be killed by application of superior cunning (by uncontrolled decompression in the book and electrocution in the film).

In the beginning of the film, Oddjob is first seen only via silhouette against a wall as he knocks Bond unconscious at the Fontainebleau Hotel, after which he or Goldfinger kills Jill Masterton (with whom Bond had spent the night) through "skin suffocation" by painting her entire body with gold paint. When Bond meets Goldfinger for a game of golf, Oddjob is seen for the first time in full. He only has four lines of sparse dialogue throughout the film: in the first, upon pretending to have found Goldfinger's missing golf ball, he exclaims "Aha!" The second time, after killing Tilly Masterton, he instructs his men to dispose of her body by merely pointing at them and saying "Ah! Ah!" In the third, he says "Ah!" to order Bond to put on a gas mask before entering Fort Knox. His final line is a scream of pain when he is killed.

Oddjob acts as Goldfinger's personal chauffeur, bodyguard and golf caddy. He wears what appears to be a bowler hat (though at times it looks like a top hat) lined with a metal razor disk in the rim, using it as a lethal flying disc of sorts (this is a bowler hat in the novel, and as such, would have had a round top). It is very powerful, capable of decapitating a stone statue. He later uses it to kill Tilly Masterton by breaking her neck. Physically he is extremely strong and durable, demonstrating his strength in a number of scenes including one where he crushes a golf ball with one hand, as well as during the climactic fight scene with Bond in which he is struck in the chest by a gold bar thrown at him, and struck in the head with a wooden object used as a club. He barely flinches after both these attacks, and is otherwise practically invincible against Bond's futile hand-to-hand combat tactics. However, he is never mentioned to be a karate expert.

The iconic statue lies at the peak of
Rio de Janeiro's Corcovado mountain

Christ the Redeemer (Portuguese: Cristo Redentor) is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; considered the second largest Art Deco statue in the world. It is 39.6 metres (130 ft) tall, including its 9.5 metres (31 ft) pedestal, and 30 metres (98 ft) wide. It weighs 635 tonnes (625 long,700 short tons), and is located at the peak of the 700-metre (2,300 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city. A symbol of Christianity, the statue has become an icon of Rio and Brazil. It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, and was constructed between 1922 and 1931.

The idea for erecting a large statue atop Corcovado was first suggested in the mid-1850s, when Catholic priest Pedro Maria Boss requested financing from Princess Isabel to build a large religious monument. Princess Isabel did not think much of the idea and it was dismissed in 1889, when Brazil became a republic with laws mandating the separation of church and state. The second proposal for a landmark statue on the mountain was made in 1921 by the Catholic Circle of Rio. The group organised an event called Semana do Monumento ("Monument Week") to attract donations and collect signatures to support the building of the statue. The donations came mostly from Brazilian Catholics. The designs considered for the "Statue of the Christ" included a representation of the Christian cross, a statue of Jesus with a globe in his hands, and a pedestal symbolizing the world. The statue of Christ the Redeemer with open arms, a symbol of peace, was chosen.

The Thinker
August Rodin's trademark piece was
originally entitled "The Poet."

The Thinker is a bronze and marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin, whose first cast, of 1902, is now in the Musée Rodin in Paris; there are some twenty other original castings as well as various other versions, studies, and posthumous castings. It depicts a man in sober meditation battling with a powerful internal struggle. It is often used to represent philosophy.

Originally named The Poet, the piece was part of a commission by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris to create a monumental portal to act as the door of the museum. Rodin based his theme on The Divine Comedy of Dante and entitled the portal The Gates of Hell. Each of the statues in the piece represented one of the main characters in the epic poem. The Thinker was originally meant to depict Dante in front of the Gates of Hell, pondering his great poem. (In the final sculpture, a miniature of the statue sits atop the gates, pondering the hellish fate of those beneath him.) The sculpture is nude, as Rodin wanted a heroic figure in the tradition of Michelangelo, to represent intellect as well as poetry.

The final of the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup was played between Japan and the United States. The match took place in Commerzbank-Arena, in Frankfurt, Germany on 17 July 2011. Japan won on a penalty shoot-out following a 2–2 draw after extended time, becoming the first Asian team to win a FIFA World Cup final.

The match was a matchup between the United States, which has been a major power in women's association football since winning the inaugural World Cup championship, and Japan, which had never won a major world title, or indeed even reached the finals of a major world competition.

The United States was bidding to become the first team to win a third world championship, having won in 1991 and 1999. Japan became the fourth team to win a world championship, joining the United States, Norway, and Germany.

The match was the third between the two teams in World Cup play. The United States beat Japan 3–0 in pool play in 1991, and won 4–0 in a 1995 quarterfinal match. Going into the final, the USA had never lost to Japan, with 22 wins and 3 draws. Prior to the World Cup, the United States was the top-ranked team in the FIFA Women's World Rankings, while Japan was ranked fourth.

This marked the first time that a team would win the World Cup having lost a match in pool play.

Japan became only the second Asian national team to reach the FIFA Women's World Cup Final. This was also only the second final not involving a European team, following China's final appearance against the United States in 1999.

Mongolia is a landlocked country in East and Central Asia. It is bordered by Russia to the north and the People's Republic of China to the south, east and west. Although Mongolia does not share a border with Kazakhstan, its western-most point is only 38 kilometres (24 mi) from Kazakhstan's eastern tip. Ulan Bator, the capital and largest city, is home to about 45% of the population.

The Mongol Empire was founded by Genghis Khan in 1206. At the end of the 17th century, most of Mongolia had been incorporated into the area ruled by the Qing Dynasty. During the collapse of the Qing Dynasty in 1911, Mongolia declared independence, but had to struggle until 1921 to firmly establish de facto independence from the Republic of China, and until 1945 to gain international recognition.

At 1,564,116 square kilometres (603,909 sq mi), Mongolia is the 19th largest and the most sparsely populated independent country in the world, with a population of around 2.75 million people. It is also the world's second-largest landlocked country after Kazakhstan. The country contains very little arable land, as much of its area is covered by steppes, with mountains to the north and west and the Gobi Desert to the south. Approximately 30% of the population are nomadic or semi-nomadic. The predominant religion in Mongolia is Tibetan Buddhism, and the majority of the state's citizens are of the Mongol ethnicity, though Kazakhs, Tuvans, and other minorities also live in the country, especially in the west. Quizmaster Sam stepped in for one night as regular Quizmaster Mr Marshall Peters was out of town on prompt business.

Eleven teams filled the bar with the enthusiastic craniums, buzzing for the contest that kicked off at 9pm sharp.

The quiz was rounded up with a new 'Urban Dictionary' bonus round on the night, and we must say that it was quite the hit with the crowd!

Scores poured in and the first place winner on the night was deemed to be Pete Marshall ran off to New York to get Hitched: Gay Man's Paradise who hauled an impressive 54 points out of a possible 65 following our bonus wager round...

The "Scottish Robin Hood"

Robert Roy MacGregor (baptised 7 March 1671 – 28 December 1734), usually known simply as Rob Roy or alternately Red MacGregor, was a famous Scottish folk hero and outlaw of the early 18th century, who is sometimes known as the Scottish Robin Hood. Rob Roy is anglicised from the Scottish Gaelic Raibeart Ruadh, or Red Robert. This is because Rob Roy had red hair, though it darkened to auburn in later life.

Along with many Highland clans, at the age of eighteen Rob Roy together with his father joined the Jacobite rising led by Viscount Dundee to support the Stuart King James who had been deposed by William of Orange. Although victorious in initial battles, "Bonnie Dundee" was killed and their fortunes fell. Rob’s father was taken to jail, where he was held on treason charges for two years. Rob’s mother Margaret’s health faltered and then failed during Donald’s time in prison. By the time Donald was finally released, his wife was dead, and his reason for living also gone. The Gregor chief never returned to his former spirit or health.

Rob Roy was badly wounded at the Battle of Glen Shiel in 1719 which saw the defeat of a Jacobite and Spanish expedition aiming to restore the Stuart monarchy.

It was another uncontrollably wild night at Caffrey's Pub this past Monday trivia night, as Hall & Oates were blurring out of the speakers, and QM Pete had his entertainment hat on.

A host of new teams showed up to take part with the quiz regulars and fun was had by all.

Special mentions go to the teams who just missed out on the best team name prize (picked every week by Billy the barback). Clit Commander Calvery scored 34 points on their debut night, and Tree Fiddy scored a respectable 38 points. The tragic death of Jackass star Ryan Dunn was referenced (possibly too soon) by some of the more up-to-date quizzers.

Best team name on the night went to The Stingrays: Get Steve Irwin Off The Mic who made their debut with an impressive 38 points....

A familiar situation arose at the top of the table were House of Payne took first place with a steady 46 points, using the alias Pandora's Box Queef in reference to a question on the night...

And second place was taking by a returning member of the formidable former Russ Feinglod team, with 42 points it was Mr. Weiner Is A Wanderer...

The 1915 Chicago Whales played their home games
at Weeghman Park, today known as Wrigley Field

The Chicago Whales were a Federal League baseball club in Chicago from 1914 to 1915. The Whales won the Federal League championship in 1915.

Founded by Charles Weeghman, the club finished 1½ games behind the Indianapolis Hoosiers in the inaugural season for the league, during which the team lacked a formal nickname and was known simply as the Chicago Federals (or Chi-Feds). Prior to the start of the season, Weeghman built a stadium for the team, called Weeghman Park, designed by Zachary Taylor Davis, who had previously designed Comiskey Park. Now known as Wrigley Field and used by the Chicago Cubs, it is the only Federal League stadium still in use.

In the league's second and final season, the Chicago Federals adopted the nickname Whales, and included the logo of a whale inside a large "C" on their uniform shirts. The Whales won the league championship, finishing with 86 wins and 66 losses, percentage points ahead of the St. Louis Terriers' 87–67 record. When Kenesaw Mountain Landis brokered a deal between the Federal League, American League and National League that ended the Federal League's existence, Weeghman was allowed to purchase the Cubs. Weeghman abandoned the wooden West Side Park and moved his team into his new steel-and-concrete structure, where they remain today. Weeghman had purchased a 99-year lease on the property, which would presumably expire in the year 2013.

Another electrifying trivia event took place at Caffrey's Pub this Monday night, as QM Pete delivered the vocal stylings as usual, and the crowd went wild for the shot wheel; those $3 car bombs sold like hot cakes.

The first place prize went to If People From Germany Are German's, Then People From Poland Are Retards, who other than offending all the Polish people, ever, they scored an impressive 45 points....

The summer has started at Caffrey's Pub, and the shot wheel was spinning like crazy as everyone got involved with some heavy drinking and focused thinking for the quiz this past Monday night.

QM Pete was back at the helm for the extravaganza that saw House of Payne leave victorious with an impressive 43 points....

They used an alias in reference to a picture question about a condom truck "spilling its load"...

Hilarious as ever.

The new team The Babysitters Club came in second, with a debut performance of a lifetime - 41 points out of 50....

QM Pete's catchphrases got the treatment in the team name process - best team name went to We Got Involved But All We Got Was Syphilis...

An absolutely true story, and a warning for any future involvement issues, syphilis is a possibility.

Also, a new league begun on the night, which will run for anticipated 8 week spell. Keep a consistent team name if you want your score to be counted each week!

A special mention also goes out to the Cervix Bruisers making their debut also on Monday. Same time, same place, probably the same underwear next week.

had just two colors: green and red

On December 10, 1868, the first traffic lights were installed outside the British Houses of Parliament in London, by the railway engineer J. P. Knight. They resembled railway signals of the time, with semaphore arms and red and green gas lamps for night use. The gas lantern was turned with a lever at its base so that the appropriate light faced traffic. Unfortunately, it exploded on 2 January 1869, injuring or killing the policeman who was operating it.

The modern electric traffic light is an American invention. As early as 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah, policeman Lester Wire invented the first red-green electric traffic lights. On 5 August 1914, the American Traffic Signal Company installed a traffic signal system on the corner of East 105th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. It had two colors, red and green, and a buzzer, based on the design of James Hoge, to provide a warning for color changes. The design by James Hoge allowed police and fire stations to control the signals in case of emergency. The first four-way, three-color traffic light was created by police officer William Potts in Detroit, Michigan in 1920. In 1922, T.E. Das Microphone ist Kaputt! No Quiz on Memorial Day...

At Caffrey's this Monday night there were some slight technical difficulties and our apologies go out to all who planned to get their quiz on at normal times.

After the problem was diagnosed as "no mic", a plan was quickly put into action and a music and microphone free intimate quiz took place in the lovely patio area in the back...

We're pleased to say a great time was had by all.

Although, the music clip bonus round was out of the question, always thinking on his size 10's (UK) 11's (US), QM Pete pulled some aces out of his sleeve and created a music meets movies bonus round, including questions about a Canadian rock star who had an international hit from soundtrack of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves; Rolling Stones tracks featured within Scorcese gangster movies; a standard Russell Brand question; who sang Ghostbusters; and what movie was the hit "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by 80's big-haired pansies Starship from?

On the night a big congratulations goes to House of Payne who on Sunday, as a queefing collective all graduated as dentists...

They will ensure that Pete's British nashers will remain beautiful for at least a few years to come, and as a tribute to their graduation and win on the night (with 41 out of 48 points) Pete got a second picture of them...

In second with 37 were Fuckin Gillespie Lost The Mic Up His Ass Again....

That was in reference to both the mic situation and bartender Dan Gillespie's fondness for ass play. ZING

The Codex Gigas (English: Giant Book) is the largest extant medieval manuscript in the world. It is also known as the Devil's Bible because of a large illustration of the devil on the inside and the legend surrounding its creation. It is thought to have been created in the early 13th century in the Benedictine monastery of Podlažice in Bohemia (modern Czech Republic). It contains the Vulgate Bible as well as many historical documents all written in Latin. During the Thirty Years' War in 1648, the entire collection was stolen by the Swedish army as plunder, and now it is preserved at the National Library of Sweden in Stockholm, though it is not normally on display.

The codex is bound in a wooden folder covered with leather and ornate metal. At 92 cm (36.2in.) tall, 50 cm (19.7in.) wide and 22 cm (8.6in.) thick it is the largest known medieval manuscript. At 165 pounds (74.8 kg), Codex Gigas is composed of 310 leaves of parchment allegedly made from the skins of 160 donkeys or perhaps calfskin. The Codex Gigas is the world's largest and most mysterious medieval manuscript. It initially contained 320 sheets, though some of these were subsequently removed.

According to one version of a legend that is already recorded in the Middle Ages the scribe was a monk who broke his monastic vows and was sentenced to be walled up alive. In order to forbear this harsh penalty he promised to create in one single night a book to glorify the monastery forever, including all human knowledge. Near midnight he became sure that he could not complete this task alone, so he made a special prayer, not addressed to God but to the fallen angel Lucifer, asking him to help him finish the book in exchange for his soul. The devil completed the manuscript and the monk added the devil's picture out of gratitude for his aid. In tests to recreate the work, it is estimated that in order to reproduce only the calligraphy, without the illustrations or embellishments, would have taken 20 years of non-stop writing.

A wild week at Caffrey's Pub this Monday for trivia night as finals week at Marquette did not deter from the quizzing festivities, and in fact enhanced them.

And quizzers were in for a real (or perhaps not so real) treat as they had some "real or fake boobs" to contend with on the evening's picture sheet...

Argentina's and South America's highest peak

Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas at 6,962 m (22,841 ft). It is located in the Andes mountain range, in the Argentine province of Mendoza and it lies 112 kilometres (70 mi) west by north of its capital, the city of Mendoza. The summit is also located about 5 kilometres from San Juan Province and 15 kilometres from the international border with Chile. Aconcagua is the highest peak in both the Western and Southern Hemispheres. It is one of the Seven Summits.

Aconcagua is bounded by the Valle de las Vacas to the north and east and the Valle de los Horcones Inferior to the West and South. The mountain and its surroundings are part of the Aconcagua Provincial Park. The mountain has a number of glaciers. The largest glacier is the Ventisquero Horcones Inferior at about 10 km long which descends from the south face to about 3600m altitude near the Confluencia camp. Two other large glacier systems are the Ventisquero de las Vacas Sur and Glaciar Este/Ventisquero Relinchos system at about 5 km long. However the most well-known is the north-eastern or Polish Glacier, a common route of ascent.

The mountain was created by the subduction of the Nazca Plate beneath the South American plate during the geologically recent Andean orogeny; however, it is not a volcano. The origin of the name is contested; it is either from the Arauca Aconca-Hue, which refers to the Aconcagua River and means 'comes from the other side', the Quechua Ackon Cahuak, meaning 'Sentinel of Stone', or Quechua Anco Cahuac, 'White Sentinel'

This Monday at Caffrey’s Pub QM Sam W stepped in to fill the shoes of Pete Marshall, as he was feeling rather under the weather.

Nonetheless the place was buzzing with thirty nine hungry trivia brains in attendance, all with high hopes of getting their hands on some of the sensational prizes.

Topping the charts this week was Nerd Herd: Whiggers with Attitude who finished with a decent haul of 44 points and eight exhausted craniums!

Exams are coming up soon too! They took the $40 bar tab for their valiant efforts.

Following just behind them in second place with 43 points, was Tune Squad...

They were nonetheless happy to finish with a $20 bar tab, with the focal point of their evening being the pure bliss of getting our Jumanji question correct!

Wadi Rum also known as The Valley of the Moon is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in south Jordan at 60 km to the east of Aqaba. It is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name Rum most likely comes from an Aramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'. To reflect its proper Arabic pronunciation, archaeologists transcribe it as Wadi Ramm. The highest elevation in Wadi Rum is Mount Um Dami at more than 1800m above sea level.

Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures–including the Nabateans–leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples. As of 2007, several Bedouin tribes inhabit Rum and the surrounding area.

In the West, Wadi Rum may be best known for its connection with British officer T. E. Lawrence, who based his operations here during the Arab Revolt of 1917–18. In the 1980s one of the impressive rock formations in Wadi Rum was named "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom" in memory of Lawrence's book penned in the aftermath of the war, though the 'Seven Pillars' referred to in the book actually have no connection with Rum.

Magna Carta is an English charter, originally issued in the year 1215, and reissued later in the 13th century in modified versions that omit certain temporary provisions, including the most direct challenges to the monarch's authority. The charter first passed into law in 1225. The 1297 version still remains on the statute books of England and Wales.

The 1215 Charter required King John of England to proclaim certain liberties, and accept that his will was not arbitrary, for example by explicitly accepting that no "freeman" could be punished except through the law of the land, a right which is still in existence today.

Magna Carta was the first document forced onto an English King by a group of his subjects, the feudal barons, in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their privileges.

The charter was an important part of the extensive historical process that led to the rule of constitutional law in the English speaking world, although it was "far from unique, either in content or form". In practice, Magna Carta in the medieval period did not in general limit the power of kings, but by the time of the English Civil War it had become an important symbol for those who wished to show that the King was bound by the law. It influenced the early settlers in New England and inspired later constitutional documents, including the United States Constitution.

It was a wild night at Caffrey's this Monday night. Not only was it the birthday of quiz regular Payne (that's simply what they call him - he's like Madonna or Cher, or even Pele?!) but it was also Caffrey's favorite bartender Dan Gillespie's big day too!

Two birthdays = trivia carnage!

In aid of this QM Pete created a shot called the Arse Bleeder, containing: sambuca, tequila, and tabasco.

On the night, the competing birthday boy's team was the winner: House of Payne used the alias Queef out of Hell, a reference to the Meatloaf question....

We shall see them at Quizmaster Cup this Sunday!

Second place went to Russ Feingold, using the alias, Your A Bloody Asshole For Making Him Drink That, in reference to QM Pete forcing the birthday boys to get shit faced...

There were some exceptional team names all referencing the madness that had ensued, but standing tall above the rest and the winner of the best team name prize was We Are Going To Buy Dan Gillespie So Many Bloody Assholes It Will Look Like He Has Placenta Hanging Out Of His Rectum In The Morning...

Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (The Young Ladies of Avignon, and originally titled The Brothel of Avignon) is a large oil painting of 1907 by the Spanish artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881–1973).

The work portrays five nude female prostitutes from a brothel on Carrer d'Avinyó (Avinyó Street) in Barcelona. Each figure is depicted in a disconcerting confrontational manner and none are conventionally feminine. The women appear as slightly menacing and rendered with angular and disjointed body shapes. Two are shown with African mask-like faces and three more with faces in the Iberian style of Picasso's native Spain, giving them a savage aura.

In this adaptation of Primitivism and abandonment of perspective in favor of a flat, two-dimensional picture plane, Picasso makes a radical departure from traditional European painting. The work is widely considered to be seminal in the early development of both Cubism and modern art. Demoiselles was revolutionary and controversial, and led to wide anger and disagreement, even amongst his closest associates and friends.

Painted in Paris during the summer of 1907, Picasso had created hundreds of sketches and studies in preparation for the final work.

It was another week of madness of Caffrey's Pub this Monday, as the usual teams were present to get their quiz on.

After a grueling quiz which included a TV quotes bonus round, the eventual first place prize went to House of Payne, who went by the alias; It puts the lotion on the skin or else it gets a queef again...

For second place we had a three way Sudden Death between Nerd Herd, I got to second base with the mermaids on the bar, and possibly (as QM Pete quoted them) "the most irritating team in Quizmaster history;" I bet if there was a gay soccer game on you would have left the volume on... bitch.

To Pete's relief the latter did not win second place but it went to Nerd Herd....

Yayyy! Due to the great reference of the golden mermaids the bar best team name went to those guys...

A special mention to But-Fucker aka Russ Feingold, who always bring the laughs, but unfortunately just missed out on sudden death by one point.

John Wooden
Won 10 NCAA national championships in a
12-year period, including seven in a row

John Robert Wooden (October 14, 1910 – June 4, 2010) was an American basketball player and coach. Nicknamed the "Wizard of Westwood", he won ten NCAA national championships in a 12-year period — seven in a row — as head coach at UCLA, an unprecedented feat. Within this period, his teams won a record 88 consecutive games. He was named national coach of the year six times.

As a player, Wooden was the first to be named basketball All-American three times and he won a national championship at Purdue. Wooden was named a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player (inducted in 1961) and as a coach (in 1973), the first person ever enshrined in both categories. Only Lenny Wilkens and Bill Sharman have since had the same honor.

He was one of the most revered coaches and was beloved by his former players, among them Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Bill Walton. Wooden was renowned for his short, simple inspirational messages to his players, including his "Pyramid of Success." These often were directed at how to be a success in life as well as in basketball.

Pussy Galore at Caffrey's! (Quizmaster Cup V Coming Next Month)!

Just a spoiler that Quizmaster Cup V, Milwaukee's biggest pub trivia tournament, is coming back to Milwaukee April 17th! Registration opens online Monday April 4th, 2011 at Noon!

Another night of madness at Caffrey's Pub this Monday for quiz night, although there were no known incidents of people getting "iced" this week.

The usual crowd poured in for the festivities, in which the team known by all simply as "Russ Feingold" left victorious....

A tense sudden death for second place between "The Nerd Herd", who's name this week was Pete? I'd Rather Kiss A Scruffy Nerd Herder - Offensive....

....and "House of Payne" who so eloquently use the word queef in their team name (again), in the form of House of Payne minus our Commander in Queef....

Excellent usage of the Queef once again.

Both had no idea about the sudden death question - the life span of the T-101 Terminator from the movie. Nerd Herd answered 20,000 years and Queef answered 10 days, as the answer is 120 years, Queef won sudden death by being 119 years 355 days off from the answer.

QM Pete mocked them.

Best team went to "Bitch is for Dog, C*nt is for Cat" in reference to the female names for animals question....

Next week, the cast of Saved By the Bell:The New Class will cohost with Pete, it will be legendary.

resignation of President Richard Nixon

The Watergate scandal was a political scandal during the 1970s in the United States resulting from the break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C. Effects of the scandal ultimately led to the resignation of the President of the United States, Richard Nixon, on August 9, 1974, the first and only resignation of any U.S. President. It also resulted in the indictment, trial, conviction and incarceration of several Nixon administration officials.

The affair began with the arrest of five men for breaking and entering into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate complex on June 17, 1972. The FBI connected the payments to the burglars to a slush fund used by the 1972 Committee to Re-elect the President. As evidence mounted against the president's staff, which included former staff members testifying against them in an investigation conducted by the Senate Watergate Committee, it was revealed that President Nixon had a tape recording system in his offices and that he had recorded many conversations. Recordings from these tapes implicated the president, revealing that he had attempted to cover up the break-in. After a series of court battles, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the president had to hand over the tapes; he ultimately complied.

Facing near-certain impeachment in the House of Representatives and a strong possibility of a conviction in the Senate, Nixon resigned the office of the presidency on August 9, 1974. His successor, Gerald Ford, issued a pardon to President Nixon after his resignation.

Have You Heard? The Nerd is the Word! (League Begins!)

It was another electric trivia occasion at Caffrey's Pub this Monday, after the bar took a break last time out due to Spring Break.

QM Pete's antics resulted in him getting "iced." Yes, and he drank the Smirnoff Ice, but this will not be forgotten.

Anyway, banter aside, the winners on the night were Nerd Herd, who got a nice 46 points to start the new quiz league...

Second place went to those guys known collectively as Russ Feingold....

And in reference to some promo girls who came in, all scantily clad, giving out shots, with 45 points a special mention to Those Pucker Girls Want My Nuts.

Best team name was a hard one to judge, but being a fan of the word queef, and its appearance in regular sentences, Quizmaster Pete Marshall gave the 3rd place prize went to Baa Baa Black Queef aka House Of Payne....

Some other special mentions to the team Anyone Know A Frank Lampard Lookalike, which was a delightful reference to QM Pete's striking good looks (hmm), and the Barrelli Brothers Famous Three Sausage Pizza, whose team name origins are too hilarious to mention on this blog.

All in all the night cracking, the popcorn flowed as much as the drinks... Same time, same place next week. Live the dream.

And don't forget a new league began so keep a consistent team name if you return next week so the QM can track your score!
